Things are Looking Up....

The last 10 days have been rather stressful. It all started on rush hour two Fridays ago. We were on our way home from Kaitlyn's CC meet and only had an hour before she and Kendra had to be at the high school for band performance at the football game. Jeff had Kendra and was in the van in front of me. I had Kaitlyn with me in the car. We were stopped at a red light in Milwaukee when out of nowhere we were hit from behind. I was pushed into the van in front of me. The woman who hit us was very upset and had no idea what had happened. She somehow pulled her foot from the brake and hit the gas. Honestly if we had to be on an accident, this was the one to be in. She hit us from a stop (damage wasn't as bad as it could've been), we weren't hurt (!) and she had insurance. We were finally able to take the car in today to the body shop for repairs and have a nice rental for the week.

Saturday after the accident Kendra started to feel sick. She ended up missing an entire week of school. She was diagnosed with strep and mono. She did go back to school yesterday but is still very tired and has headaches. Each day she has come home and rested. The good news is that her teachers are very understanding and giving her time to make up the missed assignments as well as helping her to understand the lessons that she missed. Hopefully with lots of rest she will be back to feeling 100% very soon.

I was home with her for the entire week. Thankfully for one of my jobs I still had vacation time left and used it up. For my other job duties I don't get vacation time and took a hit in loss of pay. But my child needed me and that was all that mattered.

So after being stressed and worried for the past week, I am trying to focus on the positives. Why is it so easy to let stress weigh on us and harder to look past that and focus on the good things in our life? It should not be hard to find 3 Positives in each day, right?

1. Nice rental car w/remote start...
2. 2 Minute Taco Chili for dinner...
3. Finding 4 bottles of bonus size laundry soap at Target tonight...

Things are definitely looking up!

Carrie'd Away Too...

Time to start a new blog... the original Carrie'd Away was really started for my scrapbooking/crafting projects. I want to keep one that is more personal... more about the every day happenings of our lives. And so Carrie'd Away Too was born except that I want to link a FB fan page for my scrappin' one so I needed to do some renaming. The original has now become the "too"... If it's this confusing on the first post, it'll be fun to see what happens on the rest of the posts.

Stay tuned for more...
